This week we’re chatting with Marcus Doyle, the Director of Golf at the 5 Star Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort in County Wicklow. Known to many as the “Augusta of Europe”, Druids Glen has hosted the Irish Open on four occasions and in 1999 saw an 18 year old Sergio Garcia claim his first European Tour title.
Marcus sets the scene by giving us some background into the founder of Druids Glen, Hugo Flinn, and his wish to “Build a golf course and spare no expense!”. We discuss the unique Pat Ruddy design and Marcus shares a Club Choice exclusive regarding the layout of the golf course.
